Job Purpose & Responsibilities People Management

  • Lead a team of regional category managers by developing and implementing a regional sourcing strategy, plan and budget.

Regional Category Strategy

  • Develop and implement multi-year category strategies including Regional Direct Material, Business Services and Technical Goods and Services in delivering value creation, lowest total cost of ownership and highest customer satisfaction.

  • Diligent management of all regional category spend.

  • Source and qualify new suppliers and manages existing supplier relationships in support of regional categories.

  • Device and execute supplier strategy in support of New Product/Services Introduction not otherwise within global category teams scope.

  • Coordinate cross functional projects teams on multiple sites for the specific categories.

  • Identify and actively drive (continuous improvement) for regional leverage opportunities across region and SBUs to optimize global value creation.

  • Optimize overall cost position and realize savings in procurement portfolio and vendor base based on trends, benchmarking and analysis and negotiations.

  • Set and implement pricing framework and guidelines for set of categories.

  • Negotiate with current and new suppliers serving the region.

  • Develop, drive and steer supplier innovation.

  • Responsible for contract compliance and adherence to internal and external policies and regulations.

  • Regional focal point for the rollout and implementation of global and regional category plans that create significant value for the business.

Regional Procurement Operations Internal Customer Engagement

  • Obtain stakeholder alignment and service level expectations to understand stakeholder vision and objectives and derive strategic directives for procurement in order to develop regional category strategy in-line with business objectives by acting as a supply market expert.

  • Develop and deploy APAC Procurement process capabilities in support of requirements.

  • Advocate for the benefit of the region in Global Procurement activities.

  • Understand and challenge regional internal demand, specifications and cost budgets and set directions for improvements with Site and Business Managers.

  • Collaborate with Global Procurement Services Policy Compliance organization in supporting compliance to global policies and procedures across the region including EHSS and compliance to regional legislation.

Emerging Market Sourcing (EMS) Charter and Development Leadership

  • Lead global strategic charter cross functional team towards achieving SABICs EMS global target of 2% increase per year.

  • Develop EMS supply market intelligence including EMS candidates, capabilities and potential SABIC application/business impact.

  • Gather competitive intelligence in the EMS space for Sourcing excellence in cost, performance and supply innovation.

  • Create a platform for EMS supplier innovations that will support SABIC value creation in either new competitive product performance features or reduction in product cost.
