Job Purpose & Responsibilities Functions/Responsibilities:

SABICs high heat thermoplastic business is implementing a growth strategic initiative to double Revenue and EBITDA within a 5-yr period. The Extem Product Line extension and next generation product portfolio strategy is a key enabler of the overall High Heat Business success. The Extem Business Manager will define/adjust and drive execution of the business strategy and set of well thought-thru tactics/initiatives across regions and functions to that effect. The result should be the addition of significant new incremental business growth from highly differentiated products into existing and new/emerging target applications, while delivering sustainable outstanding customer experience throughout the customer journey.

The Extem Business Manager is expected to:

  • Be fully accountable for progress towards annual and 5 yr P&B and more specifically EBITDA results of the product line;

  • Effectively develop and coordinate the implementation of aligned go-to-market and technology roadmaps to achieve Extem platform P&L ambitions globally;

  • Identify and drive to establish strategic co-producer/collaboration opportunities in the value chain of the product line upstream and downstream and track execution;

  • Significantly contribute to establishing and growing key supplier relationships;

  • Understand global and regional competitive landscape, target market needs by interfacing with the target segment eco-systems, value chain and influencer and dynamically incorporate learnings in product portfolio strategy to win;

  • Determine and develop product fit with market needs in coordination/alignment with the New business development/Specification, Technology, Process engineering and customer Fulfilment organizations;

  • Contribute to global product positioning in focus market segments thru a.o. articulation of the product portfolio value propositions

  • Lead global programs on strategic cost out;

  • Responsible for establishing the global pricing guidelines, adopting a value pricing approach, working with pricing teams;

  • Liaise with multiple internal stakeholders across the Value Creation, Operations & customer fulfillment, E&BS, Technology, procurement and Manufacturing organizations to align capabilities, ensure effective collaboration and create the conditions to enable aggressive top and bottom line growth.

  • Work closely with the HH Bus Director and HH Bus leadership team on the overall High Heat business strategy and strategic roadmaps

  • Periodically report progress to line management and leadership teams

  • Provide input into the strategy and P&B cycle regarding HH Extem business initiatives.


The impact of this role will be new incremental growth of 100 MM$ over 5 years at EBITDA at or above 40%.

This role will be empowered to make decisions and drive forward aggressively, yet will also need a combination of regional partner interfaces and global organization alignment. Effective networking, influencing and working across organizational/cultural boundaries will therefore be paramount to the success of the role.

Requirements Requirements:

BS/BA Degree, Engineering degree. MBA Desired

Minimum of 5 years of Specialty Thermoplastics Experience. High heat polymers (e.g. PEI, TPI, PPA, PPSU, PES, PEEK, PPS) experience required

Prior experience in creating/managing external partnerships/strategic relationships

Fluent in English

Prior cross-functional Business Mgt experience is an asset


Excellent business acumen

Outstanding collaborative, networking skills and team spirit.

Ability to reach out across organizational boundaries. Strong Influencing skills

Very strong track record of cross-functional and/or cross-regional team/project management

Strong project management discipline and track record on delivering results in complex projects/initiatives

Strong technical understanding of materials and conversion processes

Commercial experience (e.g. procurement, sales, tech service)

Financial acumen.
