Position Title Business Manager, New Business Development
Job Purpose & Responsibilities
Builds effective relationships with relevant Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to position SABIC as a preferred partner for Specialty materials across various targeted industry segments. Identifies growth areas and creates demand to expand SABIC’s revenue and segment presence of Specialties Materials with OEMs in Brazil.
Understands and articulates both short and long term OEM needs; including material requirements, application needs, new product introductions and new business opportunities. Gains credibility across multiple disciplines at OEMs including sourcing, design, engineering, manufacturing and strategic leadership. Delivers value added solutions based on OEM needs and SABIC’s compounding capability.
Develops a robust pipeline of new business opportunities for SABIC’s Specialties materials via direct and indirect sales channels. Creates an open opportunity pipeline and drives closure and realization of sales. Collaborates with SABIC’s Account Managers, Distribution Channel Leaders, and Technical team members to support the specification and design process for new applications with SABIC’s Specialties material portfolio.
Evaluates, assesses and reports market intelligence (i.e. industry / customer specific unmet needs and industry segment trends), competitor intelligence, and technology gaps. Leverages industry segment trends, customer unmet needs, and SABIC’s local manufacturing capability to identify opportunities that differentiate SABIC’s Specialties materials and drive new application specifications.
Develop industry expertise through immersion into focused, industry segments via networking, industry events, relevant publications, and continued education.
Acts as a contact point between new customers and SABIC teams (Product Management, New Business Development leaders, Customer Fulfillment and Technology) to offer practical solutions to address customer problems and needs with differentiated, Specialties materials.
Minimum of 5 years technical sales experience
Specialty Thermoplastics Experience
